The Best Time to Visit Georgia

Georgia is wonderful at any time of year, but every season has a mood of its own. To make your trip unforgettable, it helps to know what to expect in different months.
Spring (March–May) is arguably the best season. Nature wakes up, the slopes are covered in flowers and temperatures stay at a comfortable +18–24°C. There are fewer tourists, and hotels are easier to book.
Summer (June–August) is high season on the Black Sea coast. Batumi comes alive with beaches, nightlife and festivals. In the mountains it’s cooler in summer, and the high-altitude routes are open. Peak tourist season is July and August.
Autumn (September–November) is a golden time for foodies and wine lovers. September brings Rtveli, the grape harvest festival. The forests turn fiery colors, the air is crystal clear and there are fewer tourists.
Winter (December–February) is the season for the ski resorts of Gudauri and Bakuriani. Tbilisi dresses up for the holidays, and hotel prices drop noticeably. Winter in Batumi is mild and rainy — not the best choice for a beach holiday.
If you had to pick one perfect month, it would be May or October: warm, beautiful and not crowded.
