Kazbegi is one of the most breathtaking routes along the Georgian Military Highway: mountain panoramas, fortresses, a reservoir, viewpoints and the iconic view of Gergeti Trinity Church against the backdrop of Mount Kazbek. This is a day for those who want to see a grand, open and deeply photogenic Georgia.
Along the way the scenery changes several times: from the Zhinvali Reservoir and Ananuri Fortress to high-altitude Gudauri, the Arch of Friendship and the village of Stepantsminda. The centrepiece of the route is Gergeti Trinity Church, perched above the valley with views of the peaks.
