Best Time to Visit Georgia

Georgia is beautiful year-round, but each season brings its own character. Understanding what to expect helps you plan the perfect trip.

Spring (March–May) is arguably the finest season. Nature comes alive, hillsides burst into bloom, and temperatures hover between 18–24°C. Crowds are thinner and hotel availability is excellent.

Summer (June–August) is peak season on the Black Sea coast. Batumi buzzes with beach life, nightlife and festivals. Higher elevations stay refreshingly cool, and mountain trails are fully open. July and August are the busiest months.

Autumn (September–November) is golden time for food and wine lovers. September brings Rtveli — the ancient grape harvest festival. Forests turn fiery red and gold, the air is crisp, and tourist numbers drop pleasantly.

Winter (December–February) means ski resorts at Gudauri and Bakuriani. Tbilisi dresses up for the holidays and hotel prices fall significantly. Batumi in winter is mild but rainy — not ideal for the beach.

If you can only pick one perfect month, choose May or October: warm, scenic, and wonderfully uncrowded.
